Moving to Marianna

On Friday we took a recovery day. We were both beaten up and tired and needed a day to just chill out. We had also both developed ear infections from the water at Vortex which is not clean like that at Jackson Blue.

We managed to check the news on Ginnie Springs (at High Springs), but it is still closed. We read up on the forums and decided that even if the caves around there open up in the next few days, the diving won't be great initially because of the tannic water and silt and possible blow outs. So we emailed Richard, who owns the Hydro Lodge, to find out if we could possibly move some of our days that we'd booked there to later in the year. He was very understanding and gave us a 12 day rebate which is much better than losing the entire booking and double booking as we have been so far up in Marianna.

So we extended our booking at the Comfort Inn in Marianna, and on Saturday morning we drove back to High Springs to collect everything we'd left behind. On the way back we decided to drive passed Peacock Springs and take a look at this prized system that we can't dive.

As close to Peacock Springs as we're going to get for a while
